There are various types of RAM for a computer. ECO, ECC, DDR and DDR2. All are types of RAM. You just have to know which type your computer takes.

well if your looking at building a computer i would look up some how to videos
but its confusing to new pepole
but if your buying parts
a harddrive is called harddreve and ram is called memory its confusing when you first look in to it because adverts are missleading to what your actually getting when you buy a computer. the motherborad dictates what kind of ram you need so choose a motherboard, then choose CPU and RAM then choose graphics card then harddrive then everything eles to wfit what youve got

yeah, im ok at finding the ram i need for building computers, i just didnt know what ddr2 was when i was looking at ads for laptops i wanted to buy

well ddr is old, ddr2 is what most comuters are on at the moment and high preformace computers like £1000 are using ddr3 but ddr 2 is the norm
