i feel like that if i have to be religious then i have to give up everything else..as

in most communication with my friends..and i sorta have to go agaisnt some rules becuase of my religion..

and when i dont think of being religious then i feel like im some what closer to my friends..and more up to date with everything thats going on ..such as fashion..or slang..or anything else..

is there any way i can combine both?
as in i can be religious and stay up to date with everything else, and feel close toe everyone i love?

hm
it take s two hands to hold to the lord Jesus Christ.
if the love of anything els makes you hold to it insted of Him, then He will be a gentlemen and let you have the very desires of your heart

i encourage you to Hold to God alone.
take it from me as someone who has lost everything to be a Christian
but gained all and more than i needed to survive
Jesus is the answer.

more in coment if you so desire, untill i hear from you then i will wait

God and Jesus are more important. I understand you feel closer to your friends when you try to stop thinking about religon but you ask how you can combine both? You don’t have to show them that your religous. If you know you love god you should show it but not too much around your friends.

like everyone is sitting and talking..and we’re prob playing sharades or something
and then i have to leave to pray..and it ruins the game.and just other stuff like
that..but i want to be religious and i want to spend time with what i love doing

That’s great that you wan’t to be religous. Im christian and i don’t let a prayer interferr with anything, if they are your friends they should understand and respect that your beliefs. Now if you really need to pray in the middle of a game i don’t know what to say about that. I wouldn’t let it mess up the game if i were your friend.

I’m sure Jesus was in touch with his world and loved those close to him. I am not sure why you feel you cannot do both.

But he was gifted..im not so sure that God wants to do the same for everyone..
its harder for regular, unspecial people..

yes jesus was special. he was also left as a ‘model for us to follow closely’ . he kept ‘in touch’ with family and friends, enjoyed many pleasures and lead a good life - he did not shut himself off in a monastry and live his life in isolation

when you say you are closer to your friends when you are not ‘religious’ is this because your friends are not ‘religious’. Do they have bible values and standards? You talk about losing touch with slang and fashion - do religious people not use slang and follow fashion?
or
are you saying your friends are actually a bad influence on you, encouraging you to do ‘wrong’. IF THAT IS THE CASE - YOU CANNOT HAVE BOTH. BUT YOU ARE THE ONE WHO WOULD HAVE TO CHOOSE WHICH YOU WANT

no no, my friends are fine..theyre just like you and me..but theyre not really religious..so i guess that just sorta distracts me
but im a different religion..but they have good morals and everything..
but i just feel like I cant do both..
my religion says that women are supposed to cover themselves as much as they
can so a man’s evil eye does lay on her..so when a man looks at her ..the first
thing that comes to his mind is ” oh she’s a sister..shes decent”
not ” oh shes hot..or i like this body part..or that”
so i guess that sorta takes care of fashion..
and my religion is mostly about being peaceful and decent..being nice to others
and staying as pure as possible..and the world today makes it sorta tough

ive always wanted to bring peace and happiness to anyone i meet..i have no enemies..
Thank God..and i never want to do ANYTHING to ANYONE to hurt them..and all im saying
is that the world today makes it hard.
I love the world and i love religion..i just hate most people..in general..
as in human beings all together..everything is just so hard..because of us

know where you are coming from. The world does make it hard. I’m guessing the bible is not your religious book but it does tell us that people who try to follow Jesus will be hated by this world

(1 John 3:13)  Do not marvel, brothers, that the world hates YOU.

(John 15:17-21)  “These things I command YOU, that YOU love one another. 18 If the world hates YOU, YOU know that it has hated me before it hated YOU. If YOU were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because YOU are no part of the world, but I have chosen YOU out of the world, on this account the world hates YOU.

The following quote is from another post. I post this because it displays the closed-minded sort of life you are experiencing, being stuck in one belief while there are so many things you can believe in this world - whether or not they are established organizations. You should not prioritize what you cannot see. I think your friends should come first. And I am not implying that you are Christian with this post.

gillespieannm wrote:
you are a stupid idiot. When you die I hope you go straight to hell, oh well don’t have to worry- rejeection of Christ is the ultimate sin. Who do u think u are? Brad Pitt or something? You are just a ******* filled with fear and hatred. As much as I hate this GOD bless you and forgive you. you’re a weak *** mother *******. good luck you need it.

How respectful of other people’s beliefs (not).

See, this is what makes me hate the concept of religion so much. Too many people take it out of hand! Atheism makes sense to me. There are so many religions in this world that all claim to be true.

I may as well say I’m Jewish. That is the same thing as “rejecting Christ.” But I’m an athiest. That also means I’m “rejecting Christ.” So whether or not I am religious is not the question.

Each religion has specific requirements that, supposedly, the whole human race must ideally adapt to in order to be “saved” for a good afterlife, reincarnation, peaceful rest, or whatever comes next.

There is no way that everyone will become a Christian! There is no way that everyone will convert to anything else. Everyone is different, and yet their ideals claim that we all must be the same.

It will never happen.

And that is why I am an atheist!

My point is that you need to find a way to let your friends come first and have the religion work around it.

There are many different categories of religion, and some are less severe/more manageable than others! For example, Judaism has such levels and you could always choose to practice the least rigorous form if such spirituality is so essential to you.
