You pay for the e-mail programme you use.
Anything you get for free has to be paid for somewhere and it is paid for my attaching ads onto your e-mail in the hope that they get clicked.
If you pay for it then the ads go.

As lazyDaze already said ads are a way free email programs generate income, but check this link out, it may work for gmail

Give it a try. I don’t think it will though. If you’re talking about having no ads, regardless of the incoming mail source, then that’s going to be pretty tough! As an alternative you could disable images on your web browser so that you didn’t have to see any image ads, but then you won’t be able to see any images at all either, lol.
