I’m new here and I’ve always had trouble connecting with people.

I don’t know how to start a conversation. I’m not hopeless, I am married with two kids but I don’t know how to make friends. I only have 1 good friend and I don’t really open up to her either. I only open up to my husband, who by the way doesn’t have many friends either. I really want to know how to open up to people and make some friends.

In real life - Join a club, do volunteer work, get involved. You will meet lots of people that way. On Help.com - Just reply to others post sincerely and post thoughts yourself. You will make friends in no time. Either way, get involved with new people and they will take an interest. :)

I’m afraid to join a club or do volunteer work. I have such a hard time communicating. I know I have to put myself out there in order to overcome this shyness but it is very difficult. I don’t know if there are any places you can go to talk to people who also have this problem. i only can find chat rooms.
