I am a 46 yr.old disabled homemaker.

My husband got laid off from his job in February and is still unemployed. He receives $204 week unemployment. I have been trying to get approved for social security disability for 2 years and still don’t get it. I am on 8 different types of medication which takes a large part of our income. We are behind on our utility bills and 2 months behind on our rent and are about to be evicted. I have been to all the local agencies and can’t get any help. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi homemaker, I am wondering where u are located? I also have had my husband unemployed since Jan. nothing was really opening up. Just yesterday he got a job,he was told at first it was 18 dollars an hour then they changed it to 16 so he was a little mad, but I told him to just be grateful for anything. I am not working right now because two weeks ago I got hurt at work which has turned out to be a real pain as well. We just had to write a hardship letter to the bank because we can not pay our mortgage after 8 months of using up our all our savings. They are supposed to try to work it out for us so that we can skip two payments and lower the price per, month because they would rather have some money than none and another house in foreclosure.
I wonder why it is taking so long for them so approve your social security disability.

You might be able to send them a hardship letter too, even if you are renting. Tell your husband to hang in there it will get better, what does he do for a living? I have been thinking about starting a business from home. I have never done it before, but maybe if I start small it will not be hard.
I wonder if you might have some hidden talent you can use to work from home?

If either of you have broadband internet, check out www.workplacelikehome.com for legitimate online job leads. I have worked from home for two of the companies listed in the forums, always paid on time and what I was supposed to be paid. It is definitely worth a look.

Hi there. I provided customer support via phone for one of the companies and was promoted to team lead. This was an employee position. The other was an independant contractor position and the work is confidential, had to sign a non disclosure.
