Why does it happen that sometimes when I am looking at responses to posts, that I see most replies have three things in the right corner:

1. Quotable
2. quote
3. red flag.

Then, there are other times the “quotable” star picture is gone. Would that only happen if the post was red flagged? Is there any other reason why the “star” would not appear?

The quotable is not there on unverfied users, when you click quotable that reply is linked to that persons profile and stays there untill it scrolls off after other quotable replies have been put there.
An unverfied user only as a tempory profile and not one that can be edited so there is no reason to save any quotes to it, there for no quotable option …

That ok?

it’s so you can mark a reply as your favourite reply of all, quote someone else’s message like this:

ameliaearthlin wrote:

or you can report a reply if it’s offensive or something.

The star is gone because it won’t allow you to mark your own reply as your favourite reply. Right now, on my last comment, the star is gone for me, but it will still be there on your screen.

Thats not how it works, you have no star because you are unverified as what I said in my last reply.

Marking my own post as quotable would be so funny, HAHA.
I just saw an Anonymous that was quotable. look on this thread. http://help.com/post/311275-so-im-ner…
I’ve also seen the stars with “(2)” beside it, meaning that it was marked as quotable twice.

LazyDaze, if the user became verified at some point after writing a post, I wonder if the reply would then become quotable. I just had an idea. How long does it take somebody to become verified? If Charlie became verified, than we can check on his post.

None of this really matter, I was just curious. Thank you for answering. :)

Yeah, the number changes to the amount of people that mark it quotable, I have one on my profile that has been marked 13 times and it has been there for about 2 years now O_O

When they become verified then I am sure the quotable function will appear but the test would be if charlie verified :D
