What’s the best way to go about finding a roomate?

Ads in the local newspaper? Craigs list? MySpace/Facebook? Walking up and down the street asking people if they need a place to live (and want to pay to live there of course)?

Any suggestions? Then, how do I go about choosing a roomate who’s not a serial killer… or likes pigeons?

Walking up and down the street yelling “Searching for a roommate! Anyone who is not a serial killer or a pigeon lover is welcome to register!” for a few hours, then open a registry booth and pick one from the list.

I would sasy ads in the paper and on the internet. You can check them out firt to make sure you might be able to stand living with them. Bu you probaly won’t know that until later, so really, just hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst.

Ask friends first. Living with people you don’t know is tough I did it once when I moved to a new town. They were friends of my sisters and it turned out okay but at first everybody didn’t trust each other.
