is anyone interested in what the bible says?
I don t just mean what we’ve been told it says but about actually looking into it and trying to make sense of it.
I know we re all going to come from different points of view to begin with but it would be good to see what the bible actually says.
there was a post recently about the trinity - we could start there or have you another suggestion??
please do not reply if you re not interested - thanks

Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
Nope, not interested in it one bit but then that may be due to the fact it was written SO long ago that there is nothing in it you can take for fact, same as campfire stories passed down from person to person, the fish was caught and it was a foot long then the next time you go camping it was 10ft long and then before you know it your 80 year old gandpa actually caught a whale :S
Well,
Lots of us do read the bible and try to undestand it…
Thing is depending on where you are in your life you understand things differently…
Regarding the trinity… I dont remember there being any context in the bible for that…
It is mainly a christian belief, and alot fo our beliefs come from tradition as well…
i belive in god and i belive in bible..
but i dont write it..
But i belive..
nope not in the slightest im not interested in religion, the bible or anything its a waste of time ive got better things to do than that

Ram……i was confused - you seemed to say you read the bible but then referred to ‘christian beliefs’ and if you weren’t christian yourself - can i ask what religion you are?

you were asking for an oppinion not a debate and thats my oppinion thats its a wast of time, its allso a sensible awnser
Well Im Catholic…
I used the term christian beliefs because Mormons dont believe in the trinity, but do in the bible…
Ram…as a catholic do you believe in the trinity? you seemed to be saying you had not found anything to support it in the bible?
Is that right? I thought Mormons did believe in the trinity! Any mormons out there to put us right?
Well!
As I said alot of our beliefs come from tradition too..
Like most of what concerns Mother Mary and all…
So even if its not in the bible, lots of people belive in it…
Thanks R.A.M.
I know lots of us believe things because of tradition but i would really like to discuss what the bible says - does any one else?
plenty of people looked into it and tried to make sense of it. and now we have hundreds of different religions, all at odds with one another, causing wars, discriminating against people and generally being arrogant wanking pricks. why on earth would anyone be interested in that.
I’m not interested in their behaviour i’m interested in what the bible says.
what does the bible say that makes tham act this way

yeah i agree with this
ya the bible was written soo long ago there’s nothing we can take for fact I mean we not only have several manuscripts that proove its legitimacy none greater then the dead sea scrolls, but nooo it was written to long ago it can’t be possible lol, someones never done their research.
oh and the trinity is a Christian theologian term used; the word demons isn’t used in the bible, but we still use it, there all theological terms, it doesn’t refute the concept though that the bible talks about God being in three, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, along with the bible mentioning of evil spirits.
