Burn out or fade away?

No, I’m not suicidal.
I’m simply curious.

Please explain your answer.

I’m not sure what’s being asked here, but if I’m right…
Burn out.
Going out with a bang is a million times less lonely than fading away.

Easier. They’ll just forget about the end, only focus on the important part.

There are hardly only the two options, but supposing they were, I’d chose fade away A) because life ******* kicks *** and black unconsciousness forever sucks mega-**** and B) because sometimes if you fade away as an artist there is a resurgence of interest after your death :)

I would burn out because to me its says I was living life with fire and vigor! and fading away(and this is to me not speaking for anyone else) is just kinda giving up and watching life dissolve instead of explode.

gotta agree. If I’m going to die, and have some sort of choice in the matter it’s going to be doing something retarded-crazy or worth while.

Did I say it was about dying?
I’m observing the answers and what people think this question means.

Lol that sounds so wrong…
Don’t think of it that way.
Think of it as sharing information with a scientist.

Burn out-> Losing everything you got no matter how hard you try..

Fade Away-> …finally you(not you, in general) realize there nothing can be done…so slowly you give up and lose into your own world of sorrow and depression

(I add another one)
Hope -> Finally you realilze yourself what you can do,instead of what they want….you grow from experience and finally you get what you want.

i think nobody knew what you are talking about. I just went on the assumptions everyone else made and I assume thats what happened with everyone else.

I’m not asking for explanations though…
What do you choose? (from the original choices)

They are not suppose to know exactly what I’m talking about.
They are suppose to have their own meaning for those words.

Aim.
To explore different takes on ‘burn out or fade away’

Method.
Post on a open forum and interact with the most excellent people there.

Results.
Mixed. Some give a answer within the confines of the answer and explain why so for them. Others explore answers outside the scope.

Conclution.
Mostly fade is the popular choice.

To look at it scientifically…

“Burn out or fade away” are at both rates of decrease after a high. That high might be anything from a single happy momment, or facing mortality at the end of life.

The amount of change is referred to as “delta”, and the rate of change is a derivative.

My observations of the relationship of human happiness and the “level” of life ( eg, success, health, etc)

From simplistic to more complex.
1. Human happiness directly proportional to circumstances.
But research has shown that two years after lotto win or loss of legs, both groups had similar happiness levels.
2. Human happiness directly proportional to derivative of change in circumstance. As in, if things are getting better, then happy. If things are getting worse, then sad.
3. Human happiness directly proportional to the expected derivative of change in circumstance.
4. Human happiness is related to a base level to the basic needs of protection, freedom and friends.
5. Humans are crazy, wild, weird and wonderful ****tards who are best left unpoked.

To burn out or to fade away? Give a few examples of when someone is truly presented with such a choice in how they descend from a high, and I think the common answer would be “slow”, as it give the mind time to adapt it’s internal world model, but I too would be interested in hearing other views.
