Stories in the bible.

Are these stories supposed to be stories like they never really happened but have morals, teach you and you live your life better. Or stories like yes they really did happen and live your life better or what? (Please note that im not trying to start a religious fight. So please dont get into dumb fighting or it will just close. But alot of it makes no sense. A normal man lifting an oceans water and holding it all back?)

Religion now thats a question in its self. If I were to say to you that when you are dead that is it, you would be very disappointed. If I said to you that all energy is only transfered not destroyed , you would see logic.#
Im telling you this; we know nothing and we as a species are very limited to our understanding at this time, so there is still hope.

But I must point out that we now take in more information per day, than a 1930 journalist took in in 1 year.

There are no answer except what we can percieve.

It is a shame but unfortunate.

It really depends on which stories you’re talking about and really what you believe. Personally, I belive most actually happened by the will of God and few were “fairytales with morals.” I would suggest asking someone you really trust or a leader in your place of worship or congregation. It would be debateable and extremely time consuming to list every story and whether or not they are belived to have happened or not. I would never say every story did or didn’t happen and use an ultimatum like that. But it’s cool that you are curious about this! Asking those kind of hard questions are what make you grow in your faith.

Your first statement was a brilliant paradox. I like to think of it like this. Without man, no gods would exist.

Depends which stories you mean. Some are parables - stories to teach something. Most of the Bible is a historical record (true stories).

I think they’re stories with meaning instead of facts. They don’t have any support, are just plain inconsistent, or obviously false regarding facts. However, I think they’re intended to be taken as fact. I could go into what I think about the meanings, but you didn’t really ask that. I would like to mention that having existing places mentioned in stories lends believability to the stories but not necessarily truth. There are plenty of fictional stories with mention of real places.
