I feel I should be able to ignore (but can’t) and then realizing my life revolves around it to the point where I have become ineffective!!

an eating disorder can take over your life. It isn’t any wonder you are fed up.
It is difficult to know how to help, especially as I don’t know where you are from.
I would recommend going to see your doctor and asking for a referral to psychology services. I would recommend just looking and actively trying to find help for having an eating disorder. Try to eat…I know it sounds ridiculous but like starting to eat a bit/keeping food down can have a large impact on your mood. It’s hard to believe and long to explain. Take a look at BEAT website. Ring a helpline. Get some support.

Hi, I know what you mean. Have you recently gained weight? I am wondering what prompted for you to post that…for many of the people i know, it is an on-going vicious cycle..constant dieting..I have heard that hynotherapy works. Again, I dont know the severity of your case and I am no doctor but if you can maybe talk to your friends and family..you will need some sort of support to get thru this. good luck.

yeah I’ve finally gotten to the point where I’m able to discuss it with friends & family. but it’s not something i’m willing 2 whinge about 24 hours a day to the people i love, hence the post. i am slightly better now because of my surroundings but am nowhere near finding a better solution to life’s little inconveniences. thanks for your help everyone!!

Dear Anonymous, I am from Los Angeles and eating disorder is almost like a rite of passage for many girls. there are so many degrees and variances in which girls/women try to keep themselves thin. Many of the girls i knew became very addicted to dieting once they saw the short term results of losing weight…only thing that you can do (easier said than done) is try to be as healthy as you can be (exercise, eat properly and get pleny of sleep ) and take pride in taking a good care of yourself regardless of the size/weight ;)

are you familiar with OA which is called over eaters anonymous. it is for overeaters, bingers, binge&purge and anorexics. this is based on the time proven 12 steps of Alcoholics anonymous. there may not be meetings where you are, but there are websites dedicated to help with this. know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. there are hundreds of thousands of people struggle with food addiction. search out OA and best of luck.

you have to learn to deal with the causes and conditions of WHY you are doing this to yourself and become OK with YOU. noone can do that for you. unfortunate and unfair but fact. best of luck, warmly cw
