Hi how can you climb the in-game ledges in monster hunter freedom unite in quests such as A true foe: The giadrome?

Can these be climbed? I have also discovered that it isn’t possible for me to leave the 1st 3 segments of the map, without going up ledges? Do I need to go up these ledges or is there another way of getting out of these areas.
Cheers
Rob
