My computer will not recognize the DVD/CD Rom and does not even list a “D” Drive for the device.
The Device Manager does not list CD Rom Or DVD as an option when I try to use the “install hardware wizard” when it askes me to choose a driver it lists none that are DVD or CD rom drivers. I have tried to download drivers for my DVD CD/Rom but none will install because there is “no drive associated with it. I have tried everything that I can think Of including the “Microsoft Fix” for the problem that gave step by step directions for modifing the system registry to “correct” the problem. Nothing works. My computer simply does not know that it has a DVD/CDRom installed. I have removed the DVD/CD Rom unit and booted up with it in and with it out and then back in again. It does not appear to be a plug and play type as the computer never detects it. The computer is an HP Pavilion zt1130 the DVD/CD Rom is a Panasonic UJDA 720.
