SI help: I don’t understand converting SI prefixes at all! - Help.com

I don’t understand converting SI prefixes at all!

I need serious help with chemistry.
Can someone explain how I change grams to dekagrams? Or meters to millameters? I cant understand this and I’m really getting frustrated with myself. I was sick the first two days it was taught, and i took the test about 5 days later and still got a 62 on it. the retake is tomorrow and I still dont understand it at all.
Please Help!

Well 1 dekagram is the same as 10 grams and 1 metre is the same as 1000 millimetres. So and example of this would be that 120 grams is the same as 12 dekagrams and 12 metres is the same as 12000 millimetres.
