Help!

my husband lost his job about 3 months ago. For stupid reasons we have no money saved other than $300,000 in a 401K. Should we tap into our 401k? We have at least $80,000 in debt and no income coming in now other than work I am doing which brings in about $1,000 a month. We do get unemployment but our monthly bills are at least $8,000 a month. This is getting ugly anywhere from us getting divorced to him being stressed out about getting a new job, to the kids becoming confused. Maybe someone has any contacts on jobs for him in the NYC area. I know obviously if he does get a job the everyday bills will be taken care of then and hopefully we can aliviate the debt somehow.

you are likely paying anywhere from 10-30% on your cards. are you making that much in your 401k’s NO. pay off your debt from your 401 k immediately and RIP UP THE CARDS. learn how to live WITHIN your means. if MONEY is ripping up your marriage YOU GOT PROBLEMS. go see a GOOD therapist and get help immediately. there is NO excuse for money to ever impinge on a good relationship. and there is no excuse for ever getting into that kind of debt UNLESS it is a mortgage.

good luck
