im an extremist.
i cant stay away from sports for a second. so when i get hurt the injury ‘magically’ heals very quickly. normally, i will get away with the class act of faking. but this time i pulled my hamstring. it tends to hurt more while bending over and/or putting more weight on that leg, stretching, during basketball and soccer, and running.
here’s the main problem im seeing though. im a sophmore in highschool, and i’ve been looking at this spot on our varsity basketball team for awhile now and this year ive been told i have a big chance of doing so. i’ve practiced all summer for it. we are only in open gyms now and i dont see that i have shown my full potential just yet.
the last open gym i played on my hamstring and it hurt but i wouldnt sit out unless it was my turn. i would ice it whenever i sat out or when we had a break.
now my question is do i take a break when my chances are so high?
or do i sit out for a good week or 2?
