Help me.

I’m sick of thinking about my goddamn weight all the time.

I just want to be back where I’m sposed to be. In ******* control.

Help me. I’m ruining myself with constant over eating. I’ll make myself ill and fatfatfat.

I was so in control. Please…a mantra, weight loss tips, good exercise regimes…anything.

I must sound like an anorexic. I’m not an anorexic, please understand.

You have an anxiety problem.

The way you cope with anxiety is through control. You feel better when you control things, especially yourself.

Unfortunately, this is a route to disaster. Why? Because you cannot control circumstances. At some point you will experience a life-changing event that you could not have prevented no matter what control you had. Then you will learn that the secret to coping with anxiety is not control. It is adaptation, optimism, and flexibility.

I can’t be. I’m not happy looking unhealthy. I used to be lean and toned and strong. I’ve let myself get away. Too many late nights and parties and too much food. So much music…not enough WORK.

There’s a difference between being healthy (regular jogging, decent meals) and controlling yourself.

Control means fighting.

You don’t need to fight. Just concentrate on what you love about exercise and work and good meals with nutritious ingredients. Surround yourself with similar people. Then do these things because you enjoy them.

You can’t punish or control yourself into happiness.

You don’t say how overweight you are, so you may need some professional help with a diet that will get you back to a healthy state.

But if you’re not obese, the “No S” diet can do wonders to help you stop obsessing over food, and stop causing your weight to go up and down like a yo-you. It’s not really a diet, but a permanent change that you have to adhere to for the rest of your life. But it’s simple, and after a few weeks it’s second nature and you don’t have to think about it much anymore.

No Seconds
No Snacks
No Soda

Except on days that start with “S”

Then, be Sensible

“S” days are: Saturday, Sunday, Special Occasions and Sick days.

On S days, you may have seconds. You may have a snack. You may have a soda. You may not eat an entire cake or drink a full 2-litre or clean out a buffet. You must be sensible; but you can eat enough extra to be satisfied and feel like you don’t have to give up anything, eat weird combinations or be a math whiz counting all those calories and trying to figure out what is good or bad.
