10 Signs You Are Too Old For Halloween

10. You get winded from knocking on the door.

9. You have to have another kid chew the candy for you.

8. You ask for high fiber candy only.

7. When someone drops a candy bar in your bag, you lose your balance
and fall over.

6. People say, “Great Keith Richards mask!” and you’re not wearing a
mask.

5. When the door opens you yell, “Trick or…” and can’t remember the
rest.

4. By the end of the night, you have a bag full of restraining orders.

3. You have to carefully choose a costume that won’t dislodge your
hairpiece.

2. You’re the only Power Ranger in the neighborhood with a walker.

1. You avoid going to houses where your ex-wives live.

How old must you be to die of old age? The answer’s the same.

I was 16, a junior in HS but had younger friends to go with. Kids try to grow up too fast, so I think if someone wants to dress up and go see the neighbors it is no big deal. Granted last year I had a very young HS couple come to my door with their little girl who was too young to eat candy, all 3 had goodie bags. That was disappointing to see. These were not neighbors, just spoiled kids who wanted to have their cake and eat it too. I felt sorry for the baby girl.

I’d say 15 or 16 is the oldest that people should go trick or treating. Older teens can have jobs and pay for their treats, younger people are much more limited.

I think ultimately the door to door thing looses a great amount of appeal and is transferred to the infamous Halloween Costume party

Its different over here… (UK) primary schoolers are considered cute if they go trick or treating (thats 5-11yrs old)

But I don’t answer the door to teenage chavs trying it on!! But I think thats just the awful culture we have now.

When I was younger people used to go up until about 13/14ish.

Over here there is a section of teens that use the holiday to vandalize… throw egges, steal pumpkins (jack-o-lanterns) and throwing them too - breaking them all along the streets.

But there is another group of teens, about 11-16 that still go door to door, for the candy. Many do not take much effort in putting together a costume; but when a whole group come to the door, they are rather intimidating so they get the candy. Homeowners more afraid of the tricks they will play if they don’t get the treats.

I don’t know if I should go out. I have a great costume but I don’t want to frighten people! Then there is also the fact that if teenage run “Halloween parties” are what I’m supposed to attend, in all their inappropriate glory, maybe most people would prefer seeing some older children at their door? (Instead of seeing them rowdy causing severe trouble or vandalising property. *Not all teens are oafs btw*)

Good point. I’d rather see them at my door than causing trouble.
