it is only $10 but im a bit wary

Never known any employer to ask for any money for anything in return for a job…. If a job you have been offered incurs expenses that the employer says you are responsible for… some employers make you pay for your own uniform etc they should tell you how much it is and how they will deduct those expenses from your pay…. you shouldn’t be expected to pay in advance… not even $10 but maybe you should ask the employer why they do this.
