I am 13 years old and 88kg.
I need help. I have tried all methods under the sun and only seem to gain weight. I don’t like heaps of unfattening food either. I hate donuts and prefer not to eat fastfood. Quantity is my main problem. My weight is ruining my life and i want to be able to wear what a normal teenager wears. I am extremely depressed and when i think about my weight i only seem to get more upset. I can’t afford much as i am quite poor but i am desperate! Please help me!

When I was thirteen I weighed more than you (about 15 stone). I think one of the things you have to do is to understand why you eat more. Is it for emotional reasons, boredom etc… this will help you to control your food intake cos you know that for example when you get bored your gonna wanna eat so you can try and occupy yourself some other way. Also, I joined Weight Watchers and that really worked for me. I last three and a half stone in a year. Also, its more important to maintain youur weight if your not losing atm than gaining cos then you’ll have less to lose. Good Luck!

I agree!
I dont know if this will help you or not, but here is what i eat in a day. (Im also 16 and i weigh 50kg)
Breakfast - Banana or a Fruit Smoothie
Lunch- Soup and a slice of brown bread
Dinner- Chicken and some Veg/Chicken salad/ pasta with ham, vegetables and a sauce or something along those lines (try to cut down on potatoes, chips and rice)
If you get hungry in between meals have a piece or fruit or some carrot and celery sticks with a humous dip (or something like that)
At night I go out for a brisk 30 minute walk around the village and sometimes i’ll go out during the afternoons too.
i dont like exercising either because i am self concious-try doing exercises in your home in private,in your room while you watch tele or listening to music, try putting music on and dancing around your room as hard as you can,jog on the spot while watching tele

its a very easy trap to fall into, staying in and stopping exercise in fear others tkae notice. most the time people dont actually care and r too busy thinking of themselves. if u stay in it makes the problem first.
i think the hardest part to losing weight is getting into a healthy routine, once ur used to a routine it gets far easier. i used to end up losing too much weight because i was soo stuck into a routine (dont go extreme like i did).
i think its pushing urself to get used to a healthy weigh, dont push urself too much for a sudden change, it takes patience and time. once you start urself off and ur comfortable, it gets easier.

exercising helps alot dear friend
really? lol
The only time i eat junk food is at school, and even then it isn’t heaps. I find that when i am starting to lose weight and feeling better about myself i am very vulnerable to put- downs. When i was in primary school a girl started a rumour that i was losing weight becasue i was bulimic. I started piling the weight right back on. I find it really hard to keep my self confidence when i am losing weight. I will try and get myself into a routine though :)
