hey, im not a professional, but I was on medication which when stopped also made me feel really, bad, sweats/sick/dizzy and just generally weird. Did you decrease the dose gradually to come off it or just stop from the dose you were on. I decreased mine, but from stopping it still took about a full two weeks for symptoms to start going.
no i have just stopped it, i was on 4 different lots but was fed up of taking them so just stopped them
you just stopped them cold turkey?
thats a seriously, very very bad idea.
pretty much the worst idea ever in fact.
for one, your condition NEEDS to be medicated. that is how it is controlled. secondly, you have a build up of meds in your system. stopping them cold turkey is going to be like a heroin addict stopping, you will suffer extremely bad, potentially life threatening withdrawels.
one of those withdrawels will be the deterioration of your mental health. any stability you had is out the window and up the wazoo now.
you should either restart your meds right away, or go and see a doctor ASAP, as the withdrawels could be very serious.
thank you so much for your advice
i have only missed 4 days worth upto now,i am feelin so good though-i am normally quite tired but since stopping them i am full of energy 24/7 and dont need much sleep, its fab, well if these sweats stop-
exactly. youre in a manic phase. just wait till it all comes crashing down around you. 4 meds seems a lot to be on, i would suggest going back to your doctor and seeing if you can cut it back some, 1 that works for you should be plenty enough.
but DONT stop them cold turkey.
when your bipolar kicks in, an you have a downer, its gonna hurt real bad.
ok but just be careful about going into a manic phase. I would probably go see a doctor, they can advise you about going off your meds, or cutting them down. Might have been best to like take half a tablet of each for awhile or something. Talking it over with a doctor is deffo the best plan.
but i’m feeling so good and i might not have a downer,i have been on them since i was 14,in n out of hospital sectioned etc,at first i stopped them coz i was secretly struggling but dint wanna tell anyone in fear of letting them down but now im feeling great so it doesn’t matter, just want the sweats to stop,it really embarrassing n i think it prob obvious to people aswell.
you have bipolar disorder. you will have lows, just as you have highs. that is the nature of your disorder.
And if you don’t want to be sectioned again in tve future, then the wise thing would be to discuss your options with your doctor, and do it gradually, seeing how you are on a lower dose.
i stopped my meds to get some control back-i wanted to self harm but stopped them to get the same sort of feeling but everything i was thibkin before have gone n im feeling great, i have saved all my tablets so can just keep takin a few if i feel myself goin into a downer, that way i am in control and feeling great at the same time,i do want to tell someone but am feeling so good so dont see any point. im fed up of having to take medication and having bipolar, it does my head in,even if im well and takin meds i still have to see my doctor,i just want it al to disspaear
self medicating is definatly not a great idea. Ok, if you are feeling great and everything is good, tven why don’t you go see your doctor to show them?? Then at least between the two of you, you can monitor the situation and make sure that you do keep in control.
you may well be fed up with it, but that doesnt mean its going away.
its incredibly irresponsible of you to just stop taking your medication.
and just taking it sometimes is not going to work. meds dont work that way.
but youre not listening anyways, because youre manic right now.
like i said just wait till it all comes crashing down around you again.
this is what i wrote and posted before i started feeling so good????
please reply and tell me what you think-i am notn feelin like this now tho
i was 14,i have been better and really well on and off ever since,i have recently started getting thoughts and is thinkin ov selfharmin but i am scared and feelin confused so doesn’t know what to say and i wil upset eveyone coz i have been well for so long, i dont know what to do,i have stopped taken my medication and dont know if to just go with the flow and if i end up self harming then so be it, i cant tell anyone,i will let everyone down and upset everyone.
help!!!
should i tell someone
please reply i need advice
You need to go to a doctor!
and say what? everyone thinks im doin so well,i cant dissappoint them again,i cant keep doin this to everyone, wish i lived alone with no-one around me and then i could never upset or dissappoint anyone

you don’t need to tell everyone anyway, only the doctor. In any case its not about disappointing them, I felt the same as you do, but they want you to feel ok, they want you to be happy, putting up another front and pretending its ok, is not ok!! If they care about you they will help you because tell them how the medication is making you feel and how you don’t like it, and that you would like to discuss with the doctor about trying to cut it down a little. To do all this and be honest though you need to start taking your meds again, and not keep stopping and starting because otherwise your body will not like what is going on!!
If you talk it out rationally and explain how you feel it will be fine. If however you do it whilst feeling high/ acting high it won’t really have the same effect and no-one will agree with you.
