Do you feel like the “third wheel” sometimes during a post?

You make valid comments (well, that is debatable..lol) and no one ever even acknowledges that you are there. Personally felt that way here lately. A given, don’t come here much anymore due to slowness of the site, but there are posters that once conserved with on almost a daily basis that ignore my comments for all practical purposes. Don’t want to appear over-sensitive here, but was wondering if others felt this way at times. Having said that, I’m sure that I’ve done the same thing to others. Just a conversation piece. Just recently a poster from years ago made a post that I made some very positive remarks and they did not even acknowledge my comments. Never had a negative moment with that posters.

Anyway, just fruit for thought. Not something to not sleep about. loll

A footnote to the post, really considering not coming to this site anymore…(hear a few crying..lol) but, the site is SO SLOW and it has changed so much that it is not fun anymore. Anyone feel that way also?

Have not seen Shie on the site in a longtime. Anyone know how she is doing?

I should imagine it depends on your purpose for getting involved with a post in the first place, I have loads where people don’t reply or respond, but then generally im not responding to them for an ego boost, just because someone asked for help and i gave my opinion. Whether they respond to it online or not doesn’t really matter because they will still have read it.
But yes I understand it is very nice to be included in the convo lol and as for the slowness of tve site- my entire computer has gone that way so its all relative to me!! lol

O_o i think its more of a product of your own insecurities than anything else. youre projecting that onto yourself, its pretty near impossible to be a third wheel on public, open posts.

When replies come in, several at time it is easy to over look some replies. I find that very few people here reply to those that have added to their post. Some posters don’t reply at all to the various opinions and advise from others leaving the helpers with a sort of WTF feeling. If I offended you CS101 by missing your reply in my post I apologize, it was a simple oversight - two replies were missed that day.

I don’t ever feel like a third wheel, but I don’t expect much interaction with the poster. The way I look at it is, the poster asked for help and I provided what I could. Sometimes, my reply is similar to other replies and mine is just an additional nudge in the right direction. Other times, I express a different opinion, but I try to do it in a gentle manner so that I am not argumentative. Either way, I am not offended by the lack of interaction with the poster. On posts, I try to be helpful and supportive. If I desire more personal contact, I use the shout box.

The slowness of the site is a bit frustrating at times. I have not been making as many replies because I have been more busy with my family than usual.

I think you should stay to help because you are a wise man whose replies are valuable to the posters. Also, I would miss you if you were not here.

Always good to see you Cotton. Been awhile. No man, things are a little different here now. In regards to your comment about feeling unheard or unappreciated,

How do you know your not heard and one of the many un-sung hero’s? Consider this if you did strike a note, maybe they are keeping it quiet, and will go from there. Just maybe, you touched on something, that rang true to them, and just perhaps, they are thinking about your reply, even applying what You suggested? But, just perhaps, they cant speak about it in a public forum. Just maybe Cotton, you did make a difference, you still got a shot, right?
Cheer up, your one of the good guys! Greeneyes
