Paresthesia (very uncomfortable tingly feeling on my scalp).
I have experienced a very invalidating feeling for about 7 years now. Its like a tingling feeling on my scalp. Sometimes it feels like a burning sensation, other times it feels like there are bugs walking under the skin, and sometimes it feels like the underlying tissues are going to snap. I have seen many doctors, and I my self am a med student. Physically there is nothing wrong with me, so it is not an autoinmune disease or neuropathy. In my research I found very little information about this condition. The symptom is called paresthesia. I know it is simply my nerves, because when I had clonazepam prescribed it went away immediately, but the effect lasted only 2 weeks because it is very common to develop tolerance to that type of medication. Relaxation and all those things I have tried, but as is usually the case, it is more easier said than done. Any one else have a similar situation? If so, any tips on how to manage or cope with it? Before hand I am grateful for any useful advise.
