Which design http://pumpkinskull.deviantart.com/art/PLEASE-HELP-DECIDE-139474627 is best?

Please help, it’s 2AM and I have to select two and print and mount them for tomorrow.

It’s for Typography class =/

Project description:
“Solution A: Two contrasting letterforms visually linked- try to work with alignments rather than overlapping. Integrate letters by aligning top, bottom or parts and utilize asymmetrical balance. The overall effect should feel unified and balanced.

Solution B: Two letterforms, one positive (black) and one negative (white) integrated into each other. One or both letterforms should be incomplete.”

I then have to select also the very best individual design.

My main concerns are that it must be legible (my initials are MSH- I know the project says ‘two’ various times but I have two surnames- and I’m worried that in 1a and 2b, although the most aesthetically pleasing designs in my opinion, look more like a (backwards?) N or a weird V or abstract symbol…), fulfil the project requirements, and of course, look nice.

So the valid couplings are 1a+1b, 2a+2b, or 1b+2a ; I’m obviously not going to just submit 1a+2b.

I can also nudge the designs around a bit if need be.

Thank you very much for ANY suggestions or opinions.
