How does one attain motivation?

Struggle, a drive, passion. I really need it right now.
I lack it, and I know if I had it, my life would change in a new and positive direction.
So, anyone?

All I know is that once I get a taste of it, I always seem to let it slip away until I feel hungry again.

I think it can be a combination of 4 things:

1. Don’t have a plan/goals/steps clearly outlined - if you don’t know where you’re going you’re not going to get there.

2. Physical reasons - lack of sleep, proper exercise, nutrition, hormonal/chemical levels out of whack

3. Poor organizational skills - you may have an overarching plan but no clear next steps.

4. Doing what you don’t like - sometimes this can’t be avoided but you need to try to get doing thing in life that you enjoy. You were designed with specific purposes in mind. If you are doing those things you will feel happy and fulfilled. AND you will want do to it.

I know the symptoms, I fit them all.
What I’m asking is how to actually GET motivation. How can I make myself passionate about something, and then strive for it?
>>My whole life has been wandering around in content, I’ve been given everything I NEEDED, and just dismissed the things that I want or cant attain. I’ve never actually wanted and striven for something.

But real life has hit me, and I now know that I can’t be handed everything. Somethings I need to work for. But I have no drive. Not since about 2 years ago when certain situations caused a blow to my morale.
But I’ve been stuck content and being dismissive as I watch people grow around me and realized that i want that too. I’m actually quite intelligent, and i have so much potential…i want to show people my potential. It’s time they see it. I just don’t know where to begin.

The only way to get motivation is to make a solid commitment to do something by a certain time. Make a public commitment and you will do what you need to get it done.

Make it a realistic commitment.

1. Make a goal - something that you really want to do
2. Plan steps needed to get there
3. If you feel tired all the time or depressed go for a check up with your doctor
