What other things can i do to help me get a good paying job and make enough money to buy my self a house to live and a vehicle to drive? My first thought is that you are going to be fine. Look at you own post; you are already thinking about your future! Good for you. Now then, you asked so here it is….

It is obviously in your own best interest to get that high school education. I can not stress enough that you at least land that high school diploma, or a GED. You will have a severe disadvantage in our society if you don’t!

All is not lost if you don‘t go to college. Just because you get a college diploma does not guarantee you success. Many college graduates are depressed, unemployed, dissatisfied or just plain hate their jobs. And, they have a huge college loan to pay off. Talk about insult to injury!

The military would be a good starting point if you find yourself in a bind. However I do not think they take high school dropouts anymore. You might check with a recruiter on that. If you are going to join, really try for the Navy or Air Force. You don’t need to get blown up just yet, and those branches of the military are the least risky. Regardless, you are going to get through high school, so let’s move on.

Without a college education you will be looking at a life in “the trades”. Think plumber, electrician and don’t laugh. These people get paid a heck of a lot of money. Often times they get paid more than the fancy college graduate.
Regardless of education, your greatest chance of being successful is your motivation. If you start your own business, or work for someone else you must be motivated to work and be dedicated to doing the best you can. If you cannot or will not do this, you can plan now for a long difficult life.

Don’t let people talk down about working with your hands. The cushy office job is not a healthy lifestyle and is over rated. You get fat and lazy sitting around typing on a computer all day. Working outside, and with your hands and tools is satisfying and heart healthy.

My next bit of advice to you is to be wise with your money. Always remember that it is not a matter of how much money you make, it is about how much money you spend. There are two types of people in this world, people who will never have enough money, and people who will always have enough money. This is regardless of how much you actually make. Do not get into debt. Live within your means an you will have a happy satisfying live.
