Have you looked at images of other perm styles ? There are a few different ones. Google images might be a good place to start.

If you only have shoulder length hair, I doubt a spiral would be the ideal perm to go with. If you get a spiral, it is going to take a huge amount of length out, the result will be really short.

Maybe a soft wave would be more flattering to your hair length. It won’t take out too much length, and will be softer around your face.

Don’t ever hand your money over to some trollop who treats you poorly.

Make sure you are happy with the salon first, maybe ask your friends where they got theirs done (if you know of anyone). If the stylist is treating you like (email removed), she obvioulsy doesn’t want your business, so don’t go there.

Neither is true. Although I am in a really terrible place right now and was in floods of tears when I said that. Still I pretty much stick by what I said. And it doesn’t matter in the whole scheme of things. But then what does????

Just go to a different place and get what you want done.

My advice to you — find a hair dresser you trust and respect. If I were you I would not trust a woman who makes you feel that uncomfortable anywhere near my hair. It took me a long time to find a hairdresser I was actually comfortable with after all of my crappy hair salon experiences in the past, but now that I have her I would do anything to keep her. She’s switched salons a couple times and now finally moved into her very own salon 3 weeks ago. We’re so proud of her. And I follow her everywhere she goes. If she changes salons, so do I. Your hairdresser is like one of your best friends. Or she should be anyway. Cancel the appointment. You won’t seem like a liar if you explain to your friends the reason why you canceled and ask if them if they or anyone they know has gotten the same kind of perm you want done before and ask them if they can refer you to someone who gives quality perms and who is preferably more of a people person than this woman you are describing. Trust me on this. You won’t regret it. :)

I apologize shoob15. Unfortunately that happens to a lot of posts these days. Some people just aren’t very helpful at all. I don’t understand what they are doing on a help sight if they have no intention of helping you out, whether they felt your request for help was seriously important or not… the fact of the matter is it was important to you and you deserved the help that you asked for. Just hope you know not all of us here are like that, and we actually do aim to help. Hope this does not keep you from asking for help here in the future.
