feelin low…

school is really getting me down. the people are just urgh! u know? i really want to move school, i might have anyway in a couple of years but i just feel like i cant take it. and this aint just a rant cause 2days a perticualy bad day, i’ve been thinking it ever since someone told me i dont look like im comfortable here. i thought about it, tried to forget about it but i now realise that they were right……

i wan to move to my bros’ and my dad’s old school, something tells me i’d be happier there. i admit i bring some stuff on myself but most of the time there are roumers, going behind my back and stuff. i hoped when i came here it would be a fresh start, but no the roumers continued and all the niggly things from my old school haunt me! i guess i could have gone somewhere else when i had the chance, but no i had to be difficult! i wanted to go to the college so bad and now i wish i never had!

do u think i should leave and go somewhere where i might feel happier or stick it out and hold onto the friends i have here?

i think you can stick it out. if you’re in college fyi, it shouldn’t be all about the friends anyway. of course having a healthy social life is nice and i know rumors can’t be easy to take(for anyone!) but your studies come first. i’m sure there must be a reason why you wanted to go there so badly, hopefully it wasn’t just petty reasons. i would think of it that way anyway.

oh, i thought you were in college already! i know that would matter a lot more in high school. in that case, maybe you can try to stick it out ’till the end of the yr and transfer then? who knows, you might want to end up staying.

if you want to leave bad enough no one can stop you. you knowing they’re just pretending should take care of that; make sure to remind yourself.

It’s a big decision to make. What makes you think that you’d be happier at your bro’s old school?

Why are you paying attention to all the external crap that’s going on around you. Try to concentrate and what you want and what you want to do with your life. The more you let people and external crap affect you, the less you will be able to function.

If it’s really that bad and you got such good reviews and you like a teacher there…do it now before it’s too late! Just before GCSEs is too late in my opinion because you’d have to get used to a whole new environment.

What are your friends (at this school) like?

If you leave, is it going to disrupt your studies?

and if you tell people the truth, would they stop spreading rumors?
maybe it wouldn’t be that much of an issue to anybody?
would just be an interesting story you could tell people about your past.

You know what, you won’t be able to work properly with all that stuff upsetting you anyway, so I say move. If anything, it’s where you’re at now that’s disrupting your studies.
Anyway, I hope things work out whatever you choose to do :)

well, yea. like i used to be made fun of my hight.
but now i wouldn’t have it any other way, and thats something to tell a story about.
how you used to be bothered by something, and how stupid childish people used to make fun of it back in the old school, and how now you accept it, it is part of you and you wouldn’t be you if you wouldn’t have that thing, and you don’t care what people thinks. if you like yourself that way, others wouldn’t give it much thought.
thats the story you should tell.

a problem with changes is that you need to do them for yourself and not for others
and it is tempting to wave it around: look, i have changed now - we say often.
but this just causes us to stop trying. for some complicated reason.
better just to swallow insults and demoralizers from people while you try changing and say nothing about it for the good or for the bad.
when you finish the process they will forget how things were in the first place.
given enough time.

If i may…

grbghp wrote:

…assuming you “changed” and things quieted down… would you really want to be friends with these people? Or are you merely looking for a cease-fire? I mean, from what you say, it sounds like - forgive the phrase - like you’re convinced you’re in the right, and they’re in the wrong. (Obviously i have no way of knowing.) So… changing yourself… is it really the way to go?
And what kind of things do you “bring onto yourself”? I’m not asking you to write on here about this, just to think about it. First place the variables, then solve the problem. More variables: you have friends… good friends? How close? how many? are they on your side? Can you get any advice from your family? teachers? can you get an illuminating inspiration from somebody/a song/book/movie (amazing how that works sometimes)?
Yes, i know i just made questions and no answers.
I just realized this post is a bit old, but from my experience these things don’t usually wrap up in a few weeks, or months even. Or did they? Best wishes!
