Can anyone help me help him?

So my dad was in jail for almost 15 years, and he got a college education while in jail. In Computers and is about 10 hours away from getting his masters in computers but when he tried to enroll in the local college to finish those hours they said his hours in jail dont count or somthing like that and he doesnt know where all the pail grants he had went.

Im thinkin the only way to fix this is to get a lawyer? but does anyone else have any ideas or have had this happend to them?

Well,
Quite a few colleges do not accept work from other uni’s…
Mainly for three reasons:
-Try and get students to take more classes with them for economic reasons.
-They are not sure you are up to the standard of that university, normally they expect you to atleast have two full semesters with them for an MS excluding the thesis… So thats approx 16 credit hours and a thesis.
-They are not sure what is covered in the courses you took elsewhere so they dont know if you need more coursework or not to meet their requirements…

The main thing is to speak to the profs and work out a thesis for the masters degree and what they think is the coursework required.

Once the profs agree the admin should follow…

I think spiratec9 has something there.
Should they say no, it may still be worthwhile to try to convince them.
Because it is not good for them either, to not have their education recognized.
