I disagree… I’v had this happen a lot to me with friends of the opposite gender; a bit awkward, but communicating is a part of friendship after all, is it not?

most “friends” want to stay in contact, and a phone number is the best way to do this. now if he where a complete stranger and offered his phone number that would tell me he likes you. if theres more then an exchange of a phone number and it bothers you. talk with him about it.
