my boss is suddenly changing things.
i work at a call center; it’s a small family-based company which started with friends as the employees. personal friends and friends from church, etc. i was the first ‘outsider’ here and knew the office politics were kind of messed up because of that to beggin with. our supervisor is really good friends w/ the head call center person, let’s call her Carry. Carry was in charge of the scheduleing. you see, our company is so small we usually only have one person at the call center at a time; which means if someone is off or is sick or w/e, it affects everyone and there’s obviously some jugling. we’re open 24/7 too so that adds to it. anyway, very recently out of the blue we’re told that now if we want a day off or if we’re calling in sick we’re to contact the supervisor directly, not Carry. now, maybe that’s how it should have been from the start but we’ve been reporting to Carry for a year now!! she didn’t get much of an explenation either, and i don’t know if she gets paid more than the other or not but that seems kind’a fishy to me. makes me wonder if i’ll loose my job in the future, specially since i’m not part of their circle of friends either.
