My best friend is getting married next summer and has asked me to sing at the wedding.

Aside from a high school choir concert, I’ve never sang in front of a crowd and am NOT comfortable doing so. She knows this and would never push me. I would love to do it, as she is like family to me, but I know myself–I don’t know if I could go through with it. And if I was actually able to force myself, I would hate to sound awful/not up to my standards because of nerves–embarrassing myself, potentially bringing down the night a bit, etc.

Thoughts? (Anyone able to get over stage fright?)

Maybe you could practise singing in front of friends/family for the fun of it. Start small and gain confidence from there. I haven’t been in your position so I can’t say I’ve overcome stage fright lol, but one day…
