Mythology help- Athena (:

Welllll, for my project I chose to do Athena because she’s like one of my favorite goddess. But my teacher expects some other culture other than Greek or Roman that talks about Athena. I don’t know any other culture that talks about athena and refers to her, but since the Greek and the Romans theory of Athena differ, maybe there’s another culture…help??

Sometimes other cultures would adopt other’s deities for a short time. Also, news travels so people would of course have a basic knowledge of other’s gods. The cultures that you look into don’t have to worship her; they only have to address her.

look up greek and roman gods

basically they have the exact same gods but renamed them minerva=Athena and vice versa :)

it was a way to get the other to conform to their society and religious beliefs. By taking their gods with a different name and principalising it.

try looking into how the romans in particular exported their gods to conquered lands, or incorporated them in already established religions

pretty much every single culture or religion in the world has an Athena type figure, your teacher probably means to compare figures from other cultures, not necessarily Athena herself.
the pagans at the time worshipped mother earth, christianity has the virgin mary…theyre all variations of the same theme.
