How do I become Grateful for things in my life?

I made a list of stuff that I was grateful for. But I realised… hmm its not making me really happy to think of these things… Kindly help me find some things that if I think about them they’ll bring back +ve, happy, jubilant memories!

grateful doesn’t equate to happiness. because contentment is different from being grateful. you can be grateful/appreciate something, but you can still think that it’s not enough - or you want more. :)

how about working towards contentment instead?:)

No one can help you because we don’t know your past. Besides, one of the great contradictions in life is that happiness is fleeting. We all think we’ll be so happy once we achieve X or obtain Y. And guess what, we are, but only for a little while. The human mind rapidly accommodates changes to its environment and stimuli diminish in effectiveness over time. Certainly we can recall things with fondness. We laugh at old jokes or funny instances, but if you are looking for these things to replace missing happiness in your present life, you can forget it. Its not sustainable.

Strive for contentment instead.

Umm yeah - but umm - These things that I thought of don’t help me to feel content… Or that content.
I know I have been more content in the past. But I can’t find anything really…

Thanks guys - I understand that you may not know my past. But what are things that you guys think about to make you content? Perhaps that will help me?
:)

Why not spend some time with some really poor people. Once you see how little it takes to survive you may look at thing differently.

Yea, i agree with Andy, and try to look down the earth, and not just looking over the sky. There’ll many of things that you can be grateful about. And that’ll be so many, even you can’t write it all on paper.

you cant just decide to be grateful.

you have to treasure the things you have, love and respect them and look after them.
]remember that possessions are just things, they dont make you happy.

i dont spend money on stuff i dont need anymore, i buy experiences, i go and do stuff, live life, instead of buying a new phone i dont really need, i do something.

try it, its more fulfilling
