heart help: Medical Question: I am a 33 year old male (no insurance). - Help.com

Medical Question: I am a 33 year old male (no insurance).

I recently had 3 days of flu like symptoms. Last night I had pain in my chest that was so bad that I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t sit. I could even crunch over and cry like a little girl :).

The pain was like having a heart attack without the numb arm plus the worst acid reflux in the world. The pain persisted for about 4 hours.

During my day today I felt better. Even felt like my cold / flu was gone. Tonight, I’ve been up for nearly 5 hours with the same pain in my chest. I have less burning because I took some acid reflux medicine, but the pain is still there.

I looked up symptoms for abdominal strain, but that wouldn’t likely be the diagnosis because I sat around for 3 days with flu like symptoms, so I didn’t do any work at all.

Any suggestions?

you really need to get to the hospital or a doctor, there must be somewhere that will take you
chest pain is not something to play around with
you could be having heart attacks, you dont need to have a numb arm or jaw pain or other symptoms, in fact many fatal heart attacks occur because people have ignored the warning chest pains of minor attacks leading up to a fatal one
even if its not a heart attack, there are a multitude of heart conditions that can be fatal if not treated

I agree, go to ER. We could just guess like you what could be your case. What I know is gallbladder attacks are very similar to heart attacks. You must see a dr.

If at all possible see a doctor….just to have a check up….i know you’ve put no insurance….thank goodness i live in the UK…. we don’t have to worry about the cost of anything medical with the NHS but with something as serious as you describe i would sod the cost and go and see a doctor.

agreed
you can either spend a portion of your life paying off the medical expense of having your life saved or wait for health to consume you and not be here to pay for anything

If acid reflux medicine helped, then it is probably some sort of severe reflux, or a stomach ulcer. were you actually having a heart attack, you wouldnt have felt great today, and you wouldnt be standing right now.
just go to a flippin doctor, wouldnt you rather have a bill to pay off for a while, than wake up dead.
