Well, eccentric means away from the center, unusual, different.

If this is an English lesson and you’ve written the question exactly as it was put to you “In what ways is Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone eccentric?”, I would ask for clarification on what your teacher actually means.

In what way is the story of “Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone” eccentric?
Would relate to the story of the aforementioned title.

In what way is the film “Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone” eccentric?
Would relate to the film of the aforementioned title.

In what ways are “Harry Potter” and “The philosopher’s stone” eccentric.
Harry potter being a fictional character and The philosopher’s stone being a legendary alchemical substance.

If your teacher actually did write this question as you’ve transcribed it, Personally I would write about the similarities between a fictional character and a legendary alchemical substance just to see what happened.

If she wrote it exactly as you did I would actually ask why she became an English teacher if she can’t form decent questions.
