Has anyone got experience with social services?

My adult brother was removed from my mothers care a few weeks ago and placed with me. I thought it was going to be a short term thing but the concil have said they wont re home him for at least 6 months! My mental health is really bad at the moment and I cant cope I don’t know what to do. I know I cant have him that long. Im going to see my doctor tomoro see if I can get a higher level or prozac or something but im thinking of telling the social I cant cope and he cant stay hear. If I do this what will happen next?

They will move him to a halfway, auspice, or adult facility house. If you are not able, ready, and willing to take care of him, let them move him to a place where they will be ready to take care of him 24 hours a day. If it’s too taxing on you and your mental health, you have to do it and you have to get the best care for him. Don’t feel guilty, you’re just doing the best you can.

And I’m sure you love him very much, but you have to do what’s best for you and him.

Tell them asap.

he isnt in any danger or nothing i wouldnt hurt him! but i am going to hurt myself if he stays hear.i have been ‘ok’ for months now im back to wanting to die / disaperar. im hearing things again i cant sleep i have extreamly low moods and i get very angry and want to hurt myself. i dont blame him but i was doing grate before if he stays hear im worried ill explode.

Ooops…sorry…skimmed past “adult brother….” :s

Still, you can’t take care of someone else in the state that you are in and be effective at it; get help and then maybe you will be able to care for him

im just worried about what will happen but i think your right cant look after him when im like this.
