Sony help: My ps3 broke yesterday. - Help.com

This post left anonymously

My ps3 broke yesterday.

Well i rang sony, £128 to fix it…

argued/begged for 25mins and they still didnt budge.

i said i never rang you up during the warranty so can you do a 1 off? they said no.

they said a component is broken, i said £128 for 1 component? thts a joke tbh

other people get theres fixed or replaced outside of warranty. what makes mine any different?

if its out of warranty its out of warranty why should they get it replaced and not me?

Im going to ring again, Anyone got any material i can use against them?

i was thinking of saying, i can get a xbox 360 for 130 quid and they cost nothing to get replaced/fixed?

need help…. please!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m sorry but you are out of luck. Its the way of the world these days, nothing is made to last so you have to replace it when it breaks. The bigger companies live by that credo. In our present times it it usually cheaper to replace something than it is to break it. Take DVD players for instance, you can buy a new one for $25 here in Canada but to repair a broken one would cost minimum $50. Once the warranty wears off you would be hard pressed to get it repaired by the company. You said that you know other people who have gotten off-warranty work done on their systems, then you need to talk to them and find out what they did. Otherwise you are just repeating circumstantial evidence. And that won’t hold up anywhere!

I think you need to grow up a little bit.Thank god that you was able to buy a game and give thanks for that.It is peoples out here that dont even have a extra dime to treat their selfs to nothing. And that includes food, cloths, water, and ligths so if something brakes in your home just say well ok thanks for the time i did have with it.Nothing is made to last for ever,if what gos up must come down.whats new must get old, time is running out and its up to you to except that and move forward. So dont step on your own toes.Just go and get another one if you cant aford another one. Then save up and get one on some other time frame. But when it all said and done give thanks i think everything happens for a reason WHAT YOU THINK?

see if you can talk to the boss if that dosn’t work threating to by an x-box 360 or some other gameing system also tell them your going to tell all your friends and anyone else you know to not by a ps3 system or anything else they make, that always gets them. hopes this helps.

the funny thing is, they want £128 for an exchange but yet i can get a brand new xbox 360 for £130…

Microsoft also fix broken xbox’s for free. This tells me microsoft>sony :)

i have heard that you can use statutory rights but you have to use them through the retailer not the manufacturer (sony)

so im kind of annoyed at this moment in time as well as having the flu :P
