drinking help: Alright, I need help. - Help.com

Alright, I need help.

I need a General idea of what the consequences are legally for drinking underage and also under the age of 16. 1st offense in this area I am on probation for unrelated reasons. I have never been to juvy. And I am In the state of Arizona. Any kind of references will be helpful. I would really appreciate it if I do not get remarks such as “Well you are stupid for drinking in the first place.” I do not need to be told something I already know. LOL. Sorry if that comes acrost as rude but that is how some people are around here lol. But seriously any help will be better than none.

I don’t know the rules in your country, but here it’s only illegal to sell or serve alcoholic beverages to teenagers.

Ah, you’re from the dehydrated country.

Israel. Here it applies till the age of 18. Drinking is legal, you manage to somehow get your hands on liquor.

That makes a load of sense lol. Its illegal to buy or serve yet not to drink? I wish it were like that here lol. Nah but so what happens to the person that gives it to you if you get caught?

Punished by law, of course. They’re very careful, that way. As for the underage, can’t be punished by law but can be sent to a juvenile delinquent facility, I believe. But probably not on such a minor offence.

Well, I would say that it depends on what you are already on probation for.

If you committed a felony, or if you have committed many crimes and had your “wrist slapped” and gotten away with Deferred Judgments and Sentences or Plea Bargains….then, maybe you will have to face a tougher sentence for the drinking charge.

Also, if you damaged any property/people, restitution will have to be paid.

Do you have juvenile diversion in AZ? It’s like a pre-adjudication probation….you MIGHT qualify for that, but maybe not, since you already have a record….
