Nothing in life is consistent…except change.

It’s a complete turnover of your lifestyle which you’ve only just finally gotten comfortable with.
Ofcourse you’re going to hate it.
:)
But look on the bright side, you get to see the things which remained constant and love those.

Try explaining that to Obama.

LOL

Most people don’t like change, and I believe that comes from a sense of fear. Fear of the unknown mostly… but even if you know about the change the differences are enough to cause a fear of failed expectations. Major Joe provided a truth however. Everything always changes. The hair on our head is a complete new head of hair roughly every two years. Not one hair existed two years ago. Resistance to change tends to make things go much more rough. This is why some people believe that change is never a good thing… that problems always come from change. If you try to stop a boulder from rolling down the hill, you will eventually get run over by the boulder. If however you step aside, and let the boulder roll… you’ll be OK. Never stand in front of an avalanche expecting that you can stop it from happening.

Hey Rich, I’m very happy for you and I’m going to let you finish, but,
I can stop avalanches with my bare hands.

you hate change because it removes familiarity. humans are creatures of habit. as such, we seek to ‘normalize’ whenever we enter new territories. that’s why we have social rules and whatnot. so that when we face new people, there’s something we can fall back on, regardless of who is the person in front of us.

but looking back at your life, i’m pretty sure you’ve encountered many changes in life. think about how you got over it and try to do the same moving forward. moreover, emphasize the one major lesson that we get whenever we experience change: that the difficulty is only a transition. we DO get used to a new place. we DO get used to a new job. we DO get used to being single.

try to take comfort in time. :) change happens for a reason. whatever the outcome is, charge is to life experience. and think that each change we undergo makes us stronger.

best of luck!:)
