First of all, thank you for your service. Have you met anyone with common interests in your local area? Maybe look for some sort of organization with fellow vets or motorcycle enthusiast?

Actually, they do but at the same time, they’re double my age. Not that its a problem but it means I cant just hope on my bike and take off to FL for the weekend with them. On top of that, they both work crazy hours. The town I say in is really really small and barely rates being on the map.

I’ve tried video games but they just dont appeal to me anymore.

Is your cousin around the same age as you are? Could you meet some people through him?

Mhmm, he’s 2 years older than me. He’s introduced me to his friends but they work and do the college thing full time. When they come over we usually play tennis or throw down in some type of card game.

That could pose to be a problem. I’d suggest to look for a girlfriend…Lord knows they do nothing else but take up your time…lol. Plus you could pull off the ‘I was in the military’ card. I’ve done it. The ladies eat that up. Specially in a small town.

The only reason i haven’t done that yet is because I don’t want to be involved in a long distant relationship. I know 100% that I’m either going to be at Clemson, SC or overseas as a contractor come this Jan 2010.

Hehe, thanks anyway man. If i survived a year in Pakistan, I’m sure i can last 2 more months till I get this civilian life style under control. BTW, what branch did you serve in?

you could always get a head start on your studies if it is…though if i were you, i would enjoy your freedom till you have to knuckle down again lol.

I’m so ahead of you there. Since August, I’ve been cursing around South Carolina (it’s where clemson is and yes, its a school) on my bike because I never had transportation before I joined the military. As for dinner, I prefer cookies and cream.

The problem is Ive been doing it alone most of the time. I have several friends who own motorcycles but the one closest to me is double my age and my other friends all live 3 or 4 states away. I did a biker’s sunday where all these motorcycle owners came to show their ride and learn about God but that was a while back. Since then, I haven’t done anything really exciting lately.

i guess thats kind of the downside of being away in the services, people and friends move on while youre away.
is there a local church you could join if youre into the jesus thang?

Actually, I never though that. Guess it wouldnt hurt to give it a try.

Also, how in the heck do you get your avatar picture up. I’ve been fiddling with this thing for the last hour. I resized it, change the format and still cant get my picture up there.

Haha, that is quite possible. I think i found a new found hobby to deal with some of the boredom issues Ive been dealing with too. Guess what, you just made a Marine your friend. And please refrain from spamming me with words of joy. Remember, were only “friends”.
