i dont know what to do, im failing science class and im really worried about it.

we have had 2 unit tests and on one of them i got 66% and the one i just got back i got 52%. i study really hard and i try my best and i feel so confident in everything and then i get my test back and its below 70%. im ususally a student whos average is around 85-90% but i dont know whats going on. my parents kept on asking if i got my test back and i said that she jsut didnt give them back yet and i hate lying to my parents about it but they have such high expectations and im worried that when i get my report card the teacher is gonna want some parent teacher student interview or something and my parents will see my horrible tests. if i told my parents they would yell at me and then whenever i would have another test coming up they would put so much pressure on my about getting a good mark tat i would just end up doing worse. i do very well on projects and assignments but my tests that count for most of my mark suck like s**t! what should i do?

You should talk to your teacher or run away to a diffrent school or study with someone who gets A’s

Find more effective study strategies. You can’t just exhaustively memorize every detail of the notes or the textbook that’s given to you, you need to make sure that you understand the overall concepts and how they’re related, so you can apply. Tests are meant to be challenging, and people who blindly memorize everything get screwed over when they’re meant to apply what they’ve learnt. So you need to think, what am I supposed to be understanding here? How would the teacher test me on this?
As for your parents, well, I think they know too that you really care about your marks. You can’t hide it from your parents for forever… they will see a report card eventually. You need to come out and explain that you’ve done pretty badly, you’re really disappointed too, but you need to move on, regroup, and do well on the next test. It’s painful, but it’s better than having to explain to your parents on report card day where the 66 came from.

dont lie to your rents, they’ll be 10 times more angry if they’ve found out you’ve lied to them. Just tell them the truth and maybe they will understand, dont automatically presume that they will flip, because they might not. Your parents are the only people in the world you can truly trust, so dont worry.
Also, try talking to your teacher, look through the test + see which parts were wrong and ask your teacher to explain them again.
It may be nerdy, but its better than going through what youre going through now.
Sometimes you will get lower grades, i think youre expecting too much from yourself, your parents arent.
