I just did an IQ test,
It was on - www.iqtest.com. It said I have an IQ of 117, is this good/bad/awful?
I’m not really sure what’s classed as good and what isn’t on IQ. Anyone who can help, appreciated. Thanks.
Oh, and has anyone else done one of these recently, if so what did you get?
Also, i’m 15. But it asked me for my age, so I would presume it has calculated for that.

Those tests are not 100% accurate. 117 is just above average. But again its not a true test.
Ok, I was just wondering where it would score.
So it’s not completely awful then?
90 to 110 is considered normal. 110 to 120 very intelligent, 120 to 140 highly intelligent, over 140 near genius, 150 genius…
Online IQ tests seem to me to be a little high but I have talked to people who think they are low. The original test was developed by two doctors named Stanford and Binet and bears their name. The Stanford-Binet test is considered the standard of the industry. It was given to me in 7th, 9th, and 11th grade and each time my score was lower. It dropped 15 points my last try but I was in an altered state of conciousness and had not slept the night before I took it. I showed up at school very high and they said go to the cafeteria we are testing today. OOOOpps.
I have scored genius many times on internet IQ tests so I don’t trust them. To be honest personality and the will and determination to succeed are much more important than intelligence. I know many extremely successful business owners who dropped out of high school and are millionaires. Hard work is much more important than what’s between your ears.
Fair enough. Was just intrigued as to how I would score on one of them.
At 117 your IQ isn’t high enough to join Mensa or The International High IQ Society but if applied and did their tests you would get a more accurate result. But remember, just because one test said 117 shouldn’t discourage you from trying, you IQ could well be higher.
*if you applied
*your IQ
God, my typing was a major fail there!
117 is very smart…. very smart! If you work hard there is nothing you cannot accomplish. If you are in a room with 100 people you are more than likely smarter than 88 of them.
An online IQ test really isnt going to give you any sort of accurate result.
you will need to take a standardised Stanford-Binet test if you want an accurate reflection of your true level of IQ.
Yeah I took your test after drinking a six pack or so and still got 129 which is low for me but probably just about right considering my state of mind. I still want to remind you a high IQ does not equal success. In fact it can be a hindrance. I always got basically straight A’s and my parents would never get excited, it was like I was expected to do that. My brother would come home with a few A’s and B’s and they would say wow you really did well this time. It made me lazy and bitter. I dated a girl who had an IQ that was always between 110 and 120 when she took the test and she was the Valedictorian of her college nursing class. Hard work is what really matters…
117 is fairly good (I don’t believe you should be sterilized so that should be encouraging), but I wouldn’t trust any online IQ test, if you really want to know you can buy one from the MENSA website they will mail to you. To answer your recent question I take IQ tests monthly and range between 189-195

Yeah, I figured that much :)
Like I said before, I was just wondering.
IQ tests from the internets tend to be a little dodgy. 117 is a respectable score - above average at any rate - and IQ tests tend to only test certain aspects of a person’s intelligence. I’m at university, with some people who have great IQ’s, but are disgraceful, pathetic and terrible human beings who have no notion of humanity and no redeeming features.
To quote a friend, “they have no mates”. The notion of emotional intelligence, as well as the ability to analyse language (which most IQ tests ignore) are **** important.
Remember IQ tests have a deviation of 15 points. You could take one tomorrow well rested and alert and score 132…
