Should i go to my school’s halloween dance?

This is my first dance in high school, but i dont have many friends and i dont have a costume. I only know 3 people that are going. It is pretty late, 6:30-9:30 and my house is a 10-min walk from there.
I dont really know how to dance and i dont really know much people. I dont know what i am going to wear, either.
I asked my friend to walk with me to/from the dance, but i dont think she agreed, since she doesnt live near me.
I really want to go, since i never went to a high school dance before and i want to hang out with my friend, since i never hanged out with anyone in high school before (pathetic, i know)
What should i do??

First, commit to going to the dance.

Once you commit, you will figure out all the other issues. Costumes are simple. Be a witch or beggar or whatever.

As for not knowing people…. that is WHY you go! Introduce yourself to everyone there. Smile and give your name and ask them questions. If you’re male, ask girls to dance. Tell people you don’t know how to dance and ask them to show you. THey’ll enjoy it.

I still regret not goingto a school dance and that was 24 years ago. A pretty girl who was actually interested in me was going. Sigh.

If you don’t know how to dance, just try to copy what other people are doing and don’t make yourself stand out. You can also try dancing in front of a mirror at home (: Ahaha i like the suggestion above me, telling people you don’t know how to dance XD If you’re a guy, it’s kind of cute and if you’re a girl, it’s… still kind of cute haha. For costumes, make sure it’s nothing to bulky/hard to move around in. Find some people not dancing and talk with them if you feel too awkward on the dance floor, but most of all, have fun. Try to not follow your friend around… it sounds like maybe you should take the opportunity to meet new people and let her do the same.

If it was up to me I would go to every single dance my school has but I have to ask my mom so sometimes I don’t go. Okay so basically your problem is you don’t know anyone in your school. So what you do is you go and you gradually greet people but you can’t just start running around saying, “Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi!” because people would think you’re weird. I don’t have this problem, I know everyone in my school but that’s what I would do if I was in your situation.
