I would realy like your truthful input.

Lately I have been making videos, to put on my website. The first one has been just been put on. If as many of you can go watch it, then come back and give your honest oppinion of what you think about it, I would appreciate your views.
Obviously I need you to ask all of your friends to help me out. I am thinking of making a new website just for videos, dont worry, I am not taking youtube on, honest. http://www.theperfectpicture.org.uk/i...

It is absolutely beautiful. Perfect music choice. When the picture becomes a moving one, we can’t hear the music. So if I may suggest to either leave out the real waterfall background noise when the music is on, or stop the music for a while while you play the real waterfall picture but the two together might not be a good choice. I would prefer the picture with the panflute alone or the picture with the waterfall alone. But that’s my opinion.

happydays777.

The point is that I am trying to find out if people like this kind of thing, if they would go back to watch more videos of different themes of nature. Also if they are peaceful enough to sooth away the edges of a restless day.
Or whatever it makes them feel.

I would definitely go back and watch nature videos with soothing music. I think it is a very good idea!

Then perhaps another website, with just this sort of thing on it. Make it so others can put their own material on the website as well.

Then it will be just like the others Utube and medacafe. and unless you can afford the space and Internet connection it will not work as planed. Keep it simple and within a budget that you can afford. Hope this helps :-)

Those are some really beautiful falls but the music kind of puts you to sleep. If it was on my home theatre it would be cool to have on while you were making love but it gets a little boring fast if you are just watching it.

Thep that’s some stunning footage and yes it is peaceful and enjoyable. To make it even better here’s what would help. Always use a tripod. A steady shot is more calming. You did pretty well holding the camera steady considering the location, but a good tripod would make a huge difference. If it was an action footage or a scene meant to convey danger or excitement, handheld shots would work. Second, if you plan on doing a lot of these, invest in a better camera and editing software. To put these on the internet for free, what you’re using is fine, but if you intend to make DVDs a hi-def camera, a fluid-head tripod, and professional editing software will be a must. You don’t want to go to all that trouble and then people reject the product because it was produced with consumer tools. Also, there are many sites that will sell royalty-free music inexpensively. One that I recommend is royaltyfreemusic.com. If you use copyrighted music (and photos) and your videos become popular, you could be sued for violating copyrights.

Technical considerations: use dissolves not cuts for a piece like this. Make sure the aspect ratio of the project (3×4, 16×9, etc.) is the same as that of your video so you don’t get a black stripe at the top. And include nav buttons so the audience can pause, go back, adjust volume and so on.

Great job so far. BTW, where is that waterfall? It looked incredible.

The actual footage was taken from a helicopter, taken from the falls on the borders of Brazil and Argentina. Part of the falls in Brazil the rest in Argentina.

Will take note of what you advise me. Thanks for the reply

Yeah Niagara Falls is a great experience. There is so much mist it is like it is always raining and the noise is incredible. You have to shout to talk to someone because the falls are so loud. I go to the Smokey Mountains National park every year and they have some really nice falls too. My wife is in love with waterfalls she says something about how they create negative ions and it makes her feel like a new person again whenever we go.

Serious technical advice there sans… nice.

I think its beautiful thepp, I honestly do. You said somewhere that you thought the sound of the water was annoying. I like it. To me it is nature-natural and what is natural is beautiful. It is nice to hear the strength of the waterfall. sort of symbolises that nature is constantly flowing and is still going strong. I think its nice :) well done.

I just sent you a shout, I didn’t mean it is annoying in that sense. I ment to listen to it as many times as I have had to listen to it, the music is more soothing.
I am trying to find out how many people would like more of natural nature videos.

Oh, ok. well in that case I guess anything will get annoying if you hear it enough. but if you only hear it afew times I’m sure it’ll be fine. well I enjoyed it.y’ just have to make sure they don’t become too long though when you make more. that one was a nice length. but you should keep them at a good length like this one to stop people losing interest.

OK then, will make sure they dont last any longer than this one does. I am also thinking of putting a playlist on the player, with am option to play all, or to play the ones selected.
I will need a good player for websites though.

Thankyou, I am contemplating making another website with just this sort of nature stuff on it. Somewhere to come and relax, when feeling a bit down. Trying to find out what people think about the idea and if they would be likely to visit it fairly often.

If I’m totally honest the whole thing has given me a massive headache. Turned it off after about three minutes. The shaking of the camera made me feel queasy, the water made me need the loo and the panpipes have made my head bang.

Nice idea though.

Its kinda nice but the music and jerky movement made me feel sick almost

But from that comment you said i should at least say im not sure people would always want to sooth away a restless day in front of a computer since the ones most stressed can be office workers so last thing they would want to do is sit in front of a computer to relax.

I already have my answer now, by the amount of people that have watched that particular video on my website, I have a stats programe that tells me these things.

I would still like to get as many views as I can though, it helps me to understand people and not the stats so much.
Thanks for your views I appreciate them.
