calling all women i need advice.

when i’m on my period it often tends to be like an emotional rollercoaster. either something will upset me more than it normally would..like, where i would usually be able to just talk about it, on my period i’ll start crying while i’m talking. i’ll cry for no reason. then i have this lifting moments that just feel unnatural as well. it’s ridiculous, just awful to deal with. my period comes with many issues, thats one of the big ones.
I went to a gyno to talk about it, and i went on Yaz birth control. worked amazing. regulated my very irregular periods and i felt fine. i went about my life as normal really. it was GREAT. i did that for about two months before i started to see all the scary things about lawsuits and all of that. and i just decided that perhaps it wasn'’t the best idea. worried, i stopped taking it. But i also know that the two birth control pills that are being hit with the lawsuits are the only ones for PMDD, which my doctor said i have. and now i don’t know what i can possibly do about the mood swings besides be put on anti depresents. and i’m not doing that.

i just want to know if anyone else goes through the same thing. or has gone through the same thing.

it affects my life and the people around me. i just moved in with my aunt and uncle and i’m feeling that i should tell them that for a little chunk out of some months i’m a little out of wack. but i don’t know.

anyone have any words of advice on how to deal? i know i should go back the gyno but, that won’t be happening for a while.

I have been on the pill for mood swings. I was on Alesse. It worked wonders for me.

I would definitely tell your Aunt at least. If you are living with them they have a right to know. And yeah, I think you probably have PMDD which is what my friend was diagnosed with too. She doesn’t take Yaz anymore either but it helped her too. I would work with your doctor to find something for it, you might have to do a lot of research with a pharmacist too.

try looking into natural ways to deal with this. Diet, exercise, and exposure to sunlight hours all have a massive effect on our cycles, find out which foods will promote happiness during this time, and also go to a health shop and look into vitamins for PMDD. antidepressants are not the only answer and doctors dont know everything.

i agree with courtybubble. You don’t need artificial things or happy pills to regain happiness and control over your life. Check back with the Geno, and tell your aunt, because who knows, maybe she went through the same thing or have some advice! ( i would hold off on the uncle for now, men don’t really feel qualified to talk about such things). Emotionally, take a mini vacation, or treat yourself to something special once in a while.
Good Luck,
-Caroline
