Ive got my maths exams coming up and i need help with SURDS!

(I’ll use ‘[’ as the square root sign )

- How does 5[3 = [75 ?

My friend said you do 5×5x3 but i dont get how you get ANOTHER 5 into the sum ?
I need help with this question and also.. if u have any tips that makes understanding surds easier PLease Help =D x

you multiply 5 by 5 which is 25 then you multiply 25 by 3 which equals to 75

[75 -> 75 has many factors like 1×75, 5×15, 3×25. among these factors, one number is a perfect square which is 25 (meaning the product of an integer times itself e.g. 5 x 5).

[25×3 -> instead of writing 75, write the factors which include the perfect square and its other factor. they’re equal anyway 75 = 25 x 3.

5[3 -> get the square root of the perfect square and retain the remaining factor

So were does 5×5 come from ? But i get the part of multiplying by 3

Or lyk wen it says a[b
you always multiply a by itself, in every scenario ?
