Why do school age children/ teens come on this site to have people basically do their homework for them?

I mean I understand you need information but look it up! You won’t learn a darn thing if you don’t.

They come here because they can and some people are actually willing to do it for them. But, you’re right. They are only cheating themselves and they will stay stupid forever if they keep on doing that. There will come a time when they actually have to do the homework themselves and then they will be lost and will relegate themselves to STUPIDLAND FOREVER!!!!

Because they can.

They are not intelligent enough to figure it out on their own and believe they can skate through life on the backs of others

Oh I understand fully that they can heh, it’s just such a shame that they haven’t figured out how to do things for themselves yet. I can’t wait to see them in the real world, they come in for a new job the boss tells them to do something and they are going to be sitting there wondering where to even begin.

I don’t know, flipping burgers at McDonald’s seems pretty self-explanatory.

Some kids really do not know where to begin - others think this is the quickest way to get things done so they can go out sooner!

It’s usually pretty easy to tell when it’s the latter.

It is possible to help the former without actually doing the work. Not all kids have the benefit of good teachers who guide them in how to research, what are good and bad information sources and how to begin tackling a problem. Study skills are learned, not automatic. Lots of parents out there don’t know, some don’t care and some aren’t even there to support their kids in their learning.

The best answers are those that point the students in the right direction without giving them the answers. Things like leading them to an educational site where they can find out things or to the extra lessons that teachers put on youtube - these are positive things we can do.

Simply giving the answer to the question does not help. It neither boosts their understanding nor does it do them any favours when they get to class the next day and teacher assumes they know what they are doing so pushes them harder or quizzes them in class…

What teachers do like to hear in class is “I didn’t understand the homework, but I asked someone and they showed me this great site which made it a little clearer because it had this explanation…”

As for the students skating on the backs of others. We are pretty adept at spotting work that isn’t their own and they rarely pass the exams they need to because they simply have not put the time into perfecting their skills.

Well I’m not coming here for someone to do my homework for me I’m coming here so I can get help, tips, advice, and notes etc. So if someone sees this please reply and give me a link/site I can go to to help me with school work. I use to go to this one site called studybuddy I think is what it was called but I tried searching for it and its not here anymore.
