I see. Like angie said AN house like the H wasn’t there. I had a Canadian friend who made his H silent too. It’s interesting how we all speak the same language but it’s so different too!

I know! Don’t know what it is yet, its like a uni dinner thing that I’ve already paid for (or I will pay for in the far future when I start payin off that loan)
like in a university hall (college?)
well whatever it is lv, enjoy :)
thanks :)
My university have like a system where we all have dinner every night and pay for it before term, its in a hall (hence the ‘hall’)
I think the word for hall is different for me and you.
This is what a hall means to me http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/image…
oh yeh, that can be a hall too, but I usually would say a corridor.
I guess I mean a dinner hall, like in Harry Potter

I want a fancy dinner hall!
btw, what did you end up eating last night and did the tea and biscuits ruin your appetite?
haha no, I actually managed to sleep through dinner, so I ended up very hungry with lentils at about 9 like a real student.
But the cu of tea was really nice! I appreciate the help anyway lol xx
just english breakfast.
I’m just gonna nip to the shops and get some more cos I’ve only got… THREE TEA BAGS left. Its not on.
lol! that’s hard to explain. “nip to the shops” just means to go to the shops, but it has to be a quick visit and then straight back home.
you could also say “pop to the shops”
