My husband and I recently moved from a small town to Philadelphia…

We rented an apartment for 9 months, and its awful. We can’t afford to save enough money for a deposit on a new place by the time our lease is up and I don’t want to be trapped in this awful place.
Ideally, if we had the money, we’d want to find a place that we could stay for 3-6 years. In other words we’d be great long term renters if the place was right.
I want to find someone who is interested in investing in a rental property, maybe a fixer-upper that we could help fix up, that wants guarenteed renters for 3+ years. We have never ever been late on rent, and we have great landlord references, but not great credit.

We want a home. We are in absolutely no position to buy a home, but we are ready to settle down for a few years and have a baby, what we need is someone who wants to own a property since the market is good, and wants the security of consistent renters. How do I find a person that wants this?

You should look on http://tricities.craigslist.org/ under housing, look for listings in your area. Best of luck

I’ve been on craigslist a lot, and they have tons of rentals, but everyone requires 3 months rent upfront and a good credit score, neither of which we have. I am hoping to find someone who would let us work closely with them to make a good investment on their end, and provide a decent home on our end.
